Things Most People Forget When Planning a Wedding

Updated: Aug 15

Even with the most organized checklists, it’s easy to overlook a few key things that make a big difference on your wedding day. Here are five little details that many couples forget — but you won’t, thanks to us:

1. A Timeline Buffer

Things run late — it’s just life. Always build in 10–15 minute cushions between key moments. This keeps the day calm and gives breathing room for photos, speeches, and outfit changes without feeling rushed.

2. Guest Comfort

Shaded areas, hydration stations, comfortable seating — especially important for outdoor events in the UAE. A few thoughtful touches go a long way in keeping everyone relaxed and happy. Your guests will thank you.

3. Who’s Bringing the Marriage Contract?

Yes, it happens and this one gets forgotten more than you’d think. Assign a reliable person to be in charge of all legal and ceremonial documents — and check twice. No one wants a last-minute panic.

4. Emergency Kit

Bobby pins, tissues, band-aids, safety pins, sewing kit, blotting paper, breath mints, and painkillers. It’s a tiny bag of peace of mind — and a lifesaver when something unexpected happens.

5. A Point Person (Who Isn’t You)

On your big day, you shouldn’t be answering calls from the cake delivery or reminding the DJ about the playlist. Assign a trusted friend or, better yet, your planner (hi, that’s us) to run the show behind the scenes, so you can focus on love, not logistics.

Bonus: Vendor Meals & Breaks

Your photographers, band, and planners are working for hours — don’t forget to plan vendor meals and downtime, especially during longer weddings. It keeps your team energized and your event running smoothly.

At Beneath the Ghaf, we think of everything — even the things you didn’t know you needed. Let us handle the details so you can be fully present in your moment.
